Serbian star Nemanja Vidic, the former Manchester United star, is seeking to win the presidency of the Serbian Football Association, after completing a training course in UEFA that qualifies him for the position.
Vidic faces competition of a special kind in the race, as his opponent Dragan Zajic (76 years old), who was once accused of fraud in the Vidic transfer to Manchester United in 2011, seeks to snatch the position thanks to his experience and his work as a technical advisor and president of the Red Star Belgrade club, whose colors he also played.
Zajic denied the charges and the charges were dropped a year later, when federation president Tomislav Nikolic forgave him.

On the other hand, Vidic expressed his hopes for victory and said: “I understand what is going on on the football field and I participated in a tournament in the English Football Association, and I got a professional license and I am now trying to understand the financial, commercial, marketing and public relations aspects, which are things I know in principle because I was a player in Manchester United.” But I need to delve into it. In Serbia, we are facing the problem of a significant decline in terms of digital technology, professionalism and transparency. Serbia is lagging behind, although there are many talents in it. We have smart people and we just need someone to guide us on the right path and give an opportunity to the young generation. By returning to Serbia, I express my love for it, and I am at the best age, to help Serbian society and the Football Association.
