Vučić: Serbia welcomes everyone

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said today at the ceremonial opening of the 44th International Tourism Fair at the Belgrade Fair, under the slogan “When vacation is not difficult”, that everyone who comes to Serbia will receive a great welcome, and that great progress has been made in recent years. Income from tourism increased to 2.5 billion euros last year, he added.

Vučić also said at the fair that “we will fight for Belgrade to host the specialized Expo exhibition in 2027, which would mean a tourism boom for our country.”

He pointed out that a lot of funds will be invested in the development of the tourist infrastructure so that we can host the exhibition, but that later we would have large revenues from the development of tourism.

“It would have a huge significance for Serbia, huge revenues, a real tourism boom for our country. I estimate that we can be ahead of the others, ahead of Argentina, Minnesota in America, and the key competitor according to us is Malaga in Spain, but I believe we can beat them, since Malaga and Seville once hosted the big Expo,” said Vučić.

Opening the Tourism Fair, he invited everyone to visit Serbia and welcomed them, especially Chinese tourists.”Feel at home,” said Vučić.

The ambassador of China, Chen Bo, the partner country of this year’s fair, spoke at the opening, and the opening was also attended by the Minister of Tourism Husein Memic, Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, Minister Darija Kisić, representatives of the diplomatic corps…
