Ukraine will purchase 100 Polish-made Rosomak armored personnel carriers from Poland.
This was announced by Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki , writes ” European Truth “.
Morawiecki wrote on Twitter that the Ukrainian army will acquire 100 Polish armored personnel carriers, which are produced in the city of Siemianowice-Shlensky.
“Rosomak is the most modern combat transporters. Payment for this purchase will be made at the expense of the EU and the US,” the message says.
Rosomak is a licensed copy of the Finnish Patria AMV 8×8 armored personnel carrier. The main armament of the armored personnel carrier is a 30 mm Mk44 cannon with a stabilization system and a 7.62 mm UKM-2000C machine gun.
Ammunition is contained in two compartments for 30 mm shells and 700 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber.
Recall that the Polish government has adopted a national program to stimulate the production of ammunition for a total amount of up to two billion zlotys (426.7 million euros).
On March 20, 17 EU countries and Norway agreed to jointly produce and purchase ammunition in order to replenish their stocks and meet the needs of Ukraine. The implementation of this plan provides for the provision of one million artillery ammunition to Ukraine within 12 months.
Subsequently, Poland and Spain joined them .
