In Ukraine, One of the Thermal Power Plants Stopped Because of the Shelling of the Occupiers

The Russian army on the morning of August 24 fired at one of the thermal power plants in Ukraine. She stopped working.

It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to DTEK.

“The enemy continues to carry out terrorist attacks on civilian and energy facilities in Ukraine. Today, on August 24, one of DTEK Energy’s thermal power plants, which was subjected to repeated attacks earlier, was damaged as a result of shelling,” the report says.

Fortunately, no one was killed due to the enemy attack. However, the equipment of the TPP was seriously damaged. After the shelling, the power engineers will begin to eliminate the consequences and resume the operation of the station.

DTEK adds that since September last year, the Russians have shelled the company’s energy enterprises 34 times. As a result of enemy attacks, three power engineers were killed, and another 28 DTEK employees were injured. There were also dead and wounded among contractors and rescue workers.

The situation with light in Ukraine

After numerous attacks on the energy system of Ukraine by the invaders, the situation with electricity has stabilized. However, power engineers warn that the winter can be difficult due to new attacks from the enemy.

Also, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not exclude that the occupiers may intensify shelling during the cold period.

Ukrainians are already being urged to save electricity during peak hours – from 16:00 to 23:00, since the energy system and some facilities have not yet fully recovered.
