Business Travel Awards Europe 2023 – Winners Revealed!

Nearly 1,000 industry colleagues gathered at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in central London on Monday night for the 28th annual Business Travel Awards Europe 2023, where the winners across 21 categories were announced.

The black-tie event, organised by the BTN Group, included a welcome Champagne reception sponsored by SIXT and entertainment from Soul Fraternity, sponsored by Heathrow Express.

Welcome speeches were delivered by BTN Group executive vice president Louis Magliaro and Jason Geall, executive vice president, global SME, of the event’s headline sponsor American Express Global Business Travel, before a three-course gala dinner and awards ceremony got underway, hosted by TV presenter, comedian and magician Stephen Mulhern.

Recognising industry leadership, partnership and innovation, entries for the awards were received from companies, teams and individuals from across Europe, and were assessed by an independent panel of judges comprising 29 travel buyers and consultants.

Meanwhile, BCD Travel, Direct ATPI and Travel Planet were winners of the three Travel Partner of the Year – TMC categories and IHG Hotels & Resorts was named Travel Partner of the Year – Hotel Brand for a second consecutive year.

Two companies landed a brace of awards, with Thrust Carbon triumphing in the Accommodation Innovation and Technology Innovation – Meetings & Events categories, and Virgin Atlantic landing the Achievement in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Travel Partner of the Year – Long-Haul Airline awards.

For the first time this year, achievement in sustainability was recognised at a standalone event in May, where 11 category winners were unveiled at the inaugural Business Travel Sustainability Awards Europe.
